The Giant Killer

giant-killer-2 I wanted to do an epoch painting with lots of drama. I also want to redefine biblical illustration, by removing some of the old visual stereotypes and putting alittle more of a fantastical spin on it. Which I believe is probably  closer to reality. I believe we do a great dis-service to the Lord of Hosts when we portray His works as tame and ordinary. By the way, I hadn’t intended to make David so muscular. Actually, had envisioned him a little more stringy. Like a young lion. However, it has been sold. So, it is too late to touch up. Oh, well….

Perhaps, I’ll do another some day.
