I know, I know, I know….

I haven’t posted anything in ages. I’ve been heavily involved in taking classes to get my teaching license and (hopefully) a Master’s in Education. My grades are good but the work load keeps me hopping. At one time I had a dream of being an editorial cartoonist. When time permits I may try that out here. Jeff MacNelly (Shoe) was always one of my favorites. He drew editorial cartoons for the Chicago Tribune. His caracatures of Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were the stuff of legend. His drawings were both funny and poignant. He cracked me up and made think. Maybe I can do that for you. I thought of one for Tired and Poor… How about the Statue of Liberty holding an M-16? =]

I would be glad for anything brother. All your paintings amaze me. For months I was looking for a Christian Frazetta and the Lord gave it tom through you. God is so good.

make sure she puts down her torch or she’ll get … well, torched! 😉

That’s the problem. America is not the light of the world. Christ is. The torch was to be a beacon of liberty and to attract those who were oppressed by their circumstances.

I like the Statue of Liberty with an M-16 idea.

Thank you. I sometimes worry that I’m being to political.

Maybe a distracted Liberty consumed with herself with lots of possessions ?

    You’ll need a replacement caption.

    Maybe:

“Give me your wealthy, your geniuses, your doctors and top business people, and keep that tired, poor bunch for yourself.

(Well, maybe, I’ll take just a few of the miserable creatures, if they’ll work like dogs most of their waking hours at the most menial tasks without hope of becoming an actual citizen. [Keeping them heavy laden is a capital idea!]

And maybe if they’ll let me get fat, rich and lazy consuming most of the fruits of their labors while they struggle to meet their families’ most basic needs, doing without or sinking deep in debt.

And if they’ll worship me as they should, for the privilege.

Just a few of the pitiful things, maybe, if I can keep them tired, poor, and carrying all my heavy stuff… and, of course, deport them at will when I’ve squeezed them dry …)”

    Something like that…
